Link this testimonial | "First off, I'm deeply grateful for CS, and what it has done for traveling, but what I do find a bit distasteful about CS is the way people who host become picky about their guests. Who, and what they should write, what they think, if they spelled my name wrong, if they commented on something they read/or liked in my profile, etc. etc., has in short become more important it seems then the fact that there is a traveler in the vicinity who needs a roof and would much rather stay in with warm-hearted people in their home then in a rather impersonal hostel and pay unnecessary fees for it. More then once I hosted people who didn't even know my name when they wrote the request, and it was really great. They were in need, wrote alot of quick requests, and hoped for the best... Couch surfing for me isn't about hitting it off with the right gang, finding or selecting people who suit my tastes (though I don't party and wouldn't want to hang out with drunk people), but about opening up to situations and to people who I don't know, and can't after all know that much about from a profile, and trusting their trust that it will flow and be a great experience, even if the person stayed for one night and buggered off because destiny called... More than once I have found it exceedingly difficult to find a couch, and often I find myself just not knowing what to write when I'm requesting. Do people want an affirmation from me about their personality? Isn't it a form of insecurity and vanity to demand that the person I'm hosting will fit into my box? What happened with experimenting, trusting, being open, and accepting the experiences - because in the end meetings that come from such a stance are the ones that make a lasting impression. Spontaneity, openness and creativity in situations are keys which I would find missing if they became wholly absent in CS." |

“เรากับเพื่อนไป Trek ที่ Poonhill มาเมื่อกลางเดือนตุลา 52 โดยใช้บริการบริษัทของบาบู คือตอนแรกก็ไม่ได้คิดว่าจะใช้บริการอะไรของเค้าหรอก กะว่าแค่จะให้ทำใบอนุญาติให้อย่างเดียว แต่พอมาได้คุยแล้วก็ถูกคอกัน ก็เลยตกลงจะใช้ลูกหาบของบริษัทบาบู ได้ลูกหาบชื่อ Gakul นิสัยดีแล้วก็ดูแลให้ทุกอย่างเพราะเราก็ไปกันสองคนผู้หญิงเทคแคร์ประมาณน้องสาวเลยค่ะ พอไปถึงโพคาราบาบูก็โทรมาถามว่าถึงหรือยังโอเคไหมมีที่พักแล้วหรือยัง โดยที่เค้าก็จะไม่บังคับว่าต้องพักที่ๆเค้าแนะนำนะค่ะ ตอนกลับมาจากการเดินเขาก็โทรมาถามตลอกว่าการเดินทางเป็นยังไงโอเคไหม ก็แบบดูแลดี แล้วก็ไม่เคยยัดเยียดโปรแกรมหรืออะไรให้ คือแบบแฟร์ๆ ก็เลยชอบ ก็คิดว่าถ้ากลับมาคราวหน้าก็จะใช้บริการของเค้าอีกนั่นแหละ สนใจก็ลองเข้าไปหาข้อมูลเค้าได้นะค่ะรับรองว่าไว้ใจได้แล้วก็ได้มิตรภาพที่ดีกลับมาเด้วยค่ะ”
