So we'll walk from Hermannplatz through the now trendy district of Kreuzkölln to get to one of the many hearts of Kreuzberg, the Wrangelkiez.

On our way we'll pass and visit different projects that I consider as promising in terms of sustainability and urban pioneering and I'm curious what you say!

So you'll get a good overview of what is typical for Kreuzkölln and Kreuzberg and some of the alternative concepts that Berlin is also famous for.

This walk covers these projects and concepts:

eco non-profit cafe
coworking spaces
car-sharing
sustainable squat (not a good translation for Wagenburg but anyway...)
for free shop (~ Umsonstladen)
community shop (~ Nachbarschaftsladen)
urban farming
fairtrade and community cafes

After the walk we can have a drink somewhere in Kreuzberg and chat about the projects we visited. I'll be happy to hear how this stuff is managed where you come from!

This walk is also a kick-off activity for the Berlin sub group “For more sustainability and alternatives... let's start in Berlin!” where I'd like to organize regular meetings and activities regarding sustainability and urban pioneers.
