January is bitterly cold, and on a Thursday night, there is no better place to go than your favorite East Village bar full of Couchsurfers.

Every Thursday from 8:30pm to 1am the Couchsurfers of NYC, both locals and travelers, get together for a quick chat or for the entire evening, for a drink or just a handshake. To attend this meeting you don't have to actually host or surf... as long as you have a profile on the website, you are welcome! You can even bring your NON-CS friends and introduce them to the events and meetings part of Couchsurfing. :)

Come and

- get some tips on non-touristic sights from locals and
- create your own way of enjoying the city from their advice
- get to know other perspectives about Couchsurfing from around the world
- just have a good time with all these friends that you haven't met yet.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO TIP

In the US, the customary tip is $1 per drink at the bar, and 15-20% of the bill for food or table service. If we get a reputation being cheap with tips, we will not get good service, and if it is bad enough, the bar will not invite us back.
