Carnival is coming and we want to be ready to jump around in all the street parties. So, as a warm up, we'll hike up to the Gavea Stone.

It is probably not a climb for the faint hearted as I understand there are a few tricky sections where you need to be careful. We don't have ropes or any climbing equipment but it is pretty doable without the climbing gear. However, I'd say you need to be fit and adventurous. The peak is right by the coast so you get absolutely stunning views.

Difficulty Level: Hard

What to Bring: Light Clothes, hiking shoes (no flip flops or sandals), backpack, swimming suit, sunscreen, water (minimum 2lts), snacks (sandwiches are better than cookies).

How to get there: Coming from the South Zone neighborhoods (Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon) just take the 557 bus.
