Day Trip to Mornington Hot Springs

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Get directions

Time:

Mar 23 at 3:00 pm - Mar 23 at 9:00 pm

Duration:

6 hours

*** UPDATE MONDAY, MARCH 18: If you want to come to the hot springs this Saturday, I highly highly recommend you book in advance to avoid disappointment because they WILL close the hot springs to everyone without a reservation if they get too full! To make a reservation, go to www.peninsulahotsprings.com and click "Book Bath House Bathing." Make sure to sign up for a time you can arrive at, as you will lose your reservation (and your money) if you no-show or you're late. We have signed up for 4pm and intend to stay until after sunset. Text me at 0450 571 297 if you have any questions.

ALSO: To get public transport to the hot springs -- it will be cheap (around $5-6) but it will take about 3.5hrs each way. (2.5 hours if you're willing to take a taxi part of the way.)

First, take a train to Frankston, then a 788 bus towards Portsea, but don't go all the way to Portsea -- ask the driver to let you off at the intersection of Point Nepean Rd and Truemans Rd, in between the towns of Rosebud and Tootgarook. You can take a taxi (call 5981-2233) for the remaining 6k, or you can walk the remaining 6k (head south on Truemans Rd all the way until the roundabout, then take the exit onto Browns Rd, then take a left on Springs Ln and you're there).

If you want to meet us around 4:30pm and you're coming by public transport, for example, you can take the 12:58 train from Flinders towards Frankston, then the 2:09 bus 788 towards Portsea, getting off at Truemans Rd at 3:20 then walking an hour or so to the hot springs. In the evening, to get back to Melbourne via public transport, the last bus from Truemans Rd goes at 9:08pm, which means you shouldn't leave the hot springs any later than 8pm if you're walking back to the bus stop. Message me if you have any questions. ***

Let's go visit the Peninsula Hot Springs, a huge complex of mineral water pools and springs in the Mornington Peninsula. There are 20+ individual pools you can soak in!

The best pool is the hot pool at the very top of the hill -- it has panoramic 380-degree views. Insanely gorgeous.

Bring a picnic lunch and we'll make a day of it. They're open until 10pm, so you can really get your money's worth. Show up whenever you want and stay as long as you want.

An all-day pass is $20 if you get there at 8 AM (totally worth it). Otherwise, it's $35. (And still worth it.)

For all the info, go here:
www.peninsulahotsprings.com/" target="_blank">http://www.peninsulahotsprings.com/

You can get there by public transport, but it's difficult. I'd prefer to go by private cars if we can get enough people confirmed.

Attending: 30 (+ 4 guests)
