We are hosting a small in-home art gallery party on Friday, March 8th from 6pm until around 11pm. I am This is the first time that we are gonna try to hold this type of event at our place so we are going to try to keep it simple as far as planning goes... We will be serving food (vegan, veggie, and meaty!) and some drinks, hookah, hopefully spinning some vinyl on the record player, and featuring some cool art by local members of the community. We also have some board games, card games, etc. but need to wrap up the event before midnight to be courteous to our neighbors.
We also have two somewhat friendly cats who will probably hide once enough people show up, but if you are allergic, I want to warn you that we are pet dander positive in this apartment! :D Lots of allergy fun in here.
I have no way of actually knowing how many people will show up, so we will most likely do a bunch of one or two kinds of alcohol, and ask those who are coming to bring a bottle of cheap wine or some beers or whatever BYOB means to you. ;) We will also have non-alcoholic options.
There is typically a lot of street parking in the neighborhood streets like Idaho and Stoner Avenues, as well as the surrounding streets. Santa Monica Blvd. is a no parking zone from 4-7pm so don't park there! Also, there are many bus lines that go right in front of our intersection (Bundy & Santa Monica OR Barrington & Santa Monica are the two closest intersections) including the Metro bus, Culver City Bus, & Santa Monica Blue Bus.
Also, it's Micky Dolenz birthday, and because the Monkees are my favorite band of all time, we will be holding this event on his birthday, March 8. :D Yay!
If you have a piece of art (sculpture, painting, drawing, etc.) or two that you would like to show, send me a msg here on CS. Looking forward to seeing you!
