When it comes to fireworks in Melbourne, one event stands on its own. Its not the NY Eve fireworks. Its not the Australia Day fireworks. Its the Moomba fireworks and they are set to go off labour day weekend on the Yarra River.

It's one of the highlights of the Moomba festival. The fireworks themselves go off at 9:30pm but there are bands to listen to before and after the event and a silent disco running from 9pm to 11pm featuring Funk vs Electronica and Britpop vs Tropical Island Disco

Its a carnival atmosphere with rides and entertainment everywhere.
