Barcelona has a new sustainability centre, Valldaura Self-Sufficient Labs. Perched above the city in the Collserola hills, this forested, 130-hectare property with a state-of-the-art, energy efficient masia just 10 minutes from the city is now ready to open its doors to people of the Barcelona metropolitan area and the world beyond.

Spring Internship Program

The expanding world of sustainability education at Valldaura begins with a call to apply now for our Spring Internship Program.

Join us and become part of the team to start implementing the ambitious plans for the centre in ecological construction, water treatment, food production and renewable energy. As a member of our internship program you will take advantage of every weekend workshop we´re creating, given by invited teachers who are experts in their field, that introduces us to the work to be done during the following week, for example Mariano Bueno on home vegetable gardens, and then attend our set-piece Summer course, and Valldaura´s official opening, the 72-Hour, 2-week, Permaculture Design Course (June 21st – July 5th) given under the auspices of Permaculture´s founding father Bill Mollison, with Geoff Lawton as lead teacher.

This combination of workshops, hands-on practical experience and PDC is the perfect opportunity for internships to gain the perfect introduction to sustainable practices, whether living in the country or city, offering everyone a chance to begin consciously designing ways of living lighter on the earth.
