Every 3rd Saturday of the month, the Goethe-Institut Toronto organizes a “Deuscher Filmklub” for everybody interested in the German language & films to join in on.
The next one will be held on Saturday, April 20, and they’ll watch “Yella”. The film is in German and English with English subtitles but the discussion afterwards will be in German. There is one every month and themes & topics vary. They’re always looking for new hosts, so just write an e-mail if you’re interested in hosting and you can present your favourite German film (from the film archive), anything from documentaries to comedies, to the group. The discussion afterwards will be in German. Your German doesn’t have to be perfect, but if you’re hosting it should be good enough to lead a discussion. It’s a great opportunity to refresh & practice your language skills.
The Goethe-Institut is a non-profit and the event is free, you just have to RSVP.
I’ll be there helping to organize it. It’ll be fun, so come and join us. Helpful links below.
