In order for us to keep having our conversation meeting at the current location, we each have to help support the restaurant, which helps to support us as a group. We kindly request that everyone buys at least one drink (tea, coffee, beer...) or even food, during the meeting each week. The Kadıköy Turkish-English Conversation Group is a great opportunity for everyone to practice speaking as much Turkish and English as possible! Don't be afraid to make a lot of mistakes because it's a wonderful way to learn the language! Plus, you are surrounded by friends, so it will be fun!

*SCHEDULE*
7:30pm-8pm: arrival and open conversation (in any language)
8pm-8:30pm: ONLY TURKISH!
8:30pm-9pm: ONLY ENGLISH!
9pm-9:30pm: ONLY TURKISH!
9:30pm-10pm: ONLY ENGLISH!

We will be watching the time so that we can have several 30 minute language rotations, focused on both Turkish and English during our meeting.

From 8pm-10pm ONLY speak the language that is scheduled at the time (either English or Turkish). If you don't know any Turkish at all, this is a great opportunity to ask native Turkish speakers about Turkish. You can ask survival Turkish questions and other things like that.

*CONVERSATION PRACTICE IDEAS*
~ please bring your language questions to ask native speakers
~ please bring a notebook to write down any new words and anything else that you learn
~ if you don't know any Turkish/English at all, you can ask simple survival questions (hello, goodbye, thank you, where is?..., how much is?..., numbers... you get the idea)
~ don't worry about making mistakes
~ speak slowly
~ have fun! :)

In Kadıköy, walk from the ferry terminal on the main street towards the famous Bull Statue. You’ll pass Simit Sarayı on your right. Turn right just before the mosque, Osman Ağa Camii, into the small shoe alley bazaar. Walk through the shoe bazaar. Pass Serasker Cd. The next street on your left is Tellalzade Sokak “antique street” and turn left. The restaurant will be on your left.

Every Thursday, we will have the entire downstairs room at Günizi Restoran just to ourselves!

We’ve arranged a special menu with the restaurant owners for those of you who would like to eat dinner. As always, please pay when you order.
