This is an agreement between you and CouchSurfing.org. It's needed for several reasons, most importantly protecting member information.

You might be thinking, "What's all this legal stuff about? I just want to volunteer and get some stuff done for CouchSurfing out of love for the project!"

No worries, friend. This is a standard thing to protect user data and keep CouchSurfing a safe and friendly place. For you to have access confidential member profile information (names, email addresses, addresses, passwords, etc.) and to make sure that CS's non-profit status is protected, we need to show our users that we are making every effort to hold every member of the CS organization accountable.
