Yamagata is a small city located west of Sendai city. Not many people usually come here for sightseeing, but there are good Onsens such as on Zao mountain, famous temple called "Yamadera". I guess this town is big enough to have a castle too. :)
We have good food, Ramen, Soba are famous, and any kinds of fruits when the season comes. It is a small city, but if you are interested in coming here, please do!
