About 15 miles from Bristol, Glastonbury is the venue for this legendary, annual summer festival. There are always big-name bands (Radiohead, David Bowie, etc.) plus comedy, dance, a circus and various other stage activities. The true attractions are the unofficial events, the people, food stalls and wandering entertainers, often in outlandish costumes. The event is popular with hippies and alternative types, so do not go if you are squeamish about cleanliness, personal space and uninhibited and unusual behavior! Children under 12 have free entries.
