My RV is 36' with slide out and sleeps 4 easy 6 cozy but would limit to 3 or 4? If you do not get to Alaska in 2012 keep in touch. I will be looking for 1 or 2 people to share cost and adventure, freindship only. It looks like you enjoy travel and seeing new areas as I do. Have a great day. Mick

How long did it take? and roughly what did it cost. Anyone from outside the States would have to add airfare.

Friends in the +50 group are interested in joining me. I have been asked to arrange a trip. Can anyone with a camper who is prepared to host ( I think with cost sharing) please contact me. Also anyone who has done the trip and has an idea as to time, routes, sights to see etc. Anyone want to be a co-planner with me. I have never done the trip. We can have several campers and travel together or at least meet up at the end of the day.

I already have a taker. I was traveling in South Africa with the plus 50 group this winter when this topic came up so we have about five interested parties so far. That doesn't mean everyone will make it in the end. Plus I nope others will join. It would be fun to have several rigs and form a caravan. I think most people can only stay for one way or part way so we should look for people who want to go from north to south as well. Or be willing to drive home without our companions.

I have a jeep grand cherokee and could camp out of it ...already have ALL the camping gear ! Bikes & kayaks! OK ...let's go! Seriously , keep me posted . I am leaving towards the end of the month on a bicycle/kayak tour on the Mississippi River Trail but I will keep up with this post. I can ride down to Ft Laurderdale to meet up with you on a weekend sometime, Gina

I can sleep outside, but must have a seat with seatbelt. I can't sit on a camper bed for long ride. I also need to be drop ped off @ city with connection to airports. I suggest to post a new summary of itineraries by drivers with automobiles, so that passengers can join : start date, end date, cities to meet passengers & dates, vehicle description, # sleep spaces, tents,# seats with seatbelts, other important info. Drivers should post expected shared vehicle cost in dollar-cents per miles & other expenses. Sally Eisen |
