Letter of Invitation for tourist visa .. HELP!

Ive been trying to figure out the visa requirement for a tourist L visa to China. I will be traveling on Jan 7th back to SE Asia and was hoping to get a Chinese Visa now since I am in the US for a couple more days. I would like to spend 2-3 months in China starting around June 2013. I keep reading that I need a letter of invitation or I need flight tickets and hotel reservations. I will not be flying into China and I dont know the exact dates of my itinerary yet.

Does anyone have advice on this?? .. or is there someone here who could help me with the letter of invitation? Really appreciate any responses!!

yes ive read this .. but i need someone to write me a letter of invitation maybe a CSer living in China can help me out .. my other thought is to make a fake plane reservation but not sure if that will work and fake hotel reservations

im not flying or using a tour group

how you can get your visa in one of the limitroph countries where you are going.

I tried once to get my visa in Canada and they were asking many documents and not taking in consideration that I would be coming overland. So I "gave up" knowing it could be easier to get one on the road.

I got my visas in Mongolia, HK and Pakistan and there, they make no fuss about coming overland or not being part of a group.

I don't know where you are going first but it may worth it to do it there...

I will be planning to enter China from Vietnam and everything I read online says they are not giving tourist visas there unless you live and work in Vietnam which I do not. Everyone has been telling me its very difficult to get a multiple entry visa outside your home country especially for americans.

they asked me invitation letter in chinese, photocopy of inviter ID card and they also asked me open bank account in china bank and leave 20000rmb !!! inside for 3 months as deposit, but : its all just gestures, they wont take it serious. i even didnt provide deposit and they didnt care.about invitation letter, u jut book a hotel and ask hotel to send invitation to you
