I'm thinking of find a travelling companion go to Tibet by hitchhiking on summer months, July and August. Absolutely it will be a long journey. As usual, I’ll find couch during the trip, although I still a newcomer here, but I’m not rookie on the internal couchsurfer in china. So I assure you that our trip will filled with surprise and miracles. I’m seriously post this request and definitely want to find a adventurous travelling companion. If you are interested in my plan, you can send Email for me to discuss more details. My email address is xiazaiyuzhong@163.com. I will back to shanghai at winter holiday, we can talk face to face about the trip if you also live or study in shanghai. It's a hard trek up and down the gorges, across rushing icy torrents, through broken rocks, over wire-rope bridges and through crevasse glaciers. https://www.couchsurfing.org/activity/view/KV5CHK/k2-base-camp-trek-classic-route-23-days-pakistan As a foreigner, in U-Zang (chinese TAR) we are not allowed to HH and camp since maybe 2008 and rules are more and more strict lately every day. Check some relative info sources, - in U-Zang foreigners have to get with "organized" group of at least 4 or 5 people SAME NATION and than are accepted - that's why lately many foreigners getting organize on CS too , but still - you must stay in state permitted hotels and cannot leave big cities. Similar (just not SUCH strict) rules are since 2008. If I can recommend trek to Tibet, visit Kham or Amdo, which are also in PRC's Qinghai and Sichuan because restrictions do not cover other parts of Tibet but U-Zang. Nice trip! I will be in China in the summer and I also thought to hh and camp in Tibet (if I can get in). So does this only count for Tibet? Is it possible to hitchhike and camp in other rural parts of China? I hope it not to late to reply, ^Yes,on the way to Tibet, we will pass many cities including rural areas^^so you will be china this summer? Maybe K2, It has earned a parlous reputation like no other mountain in the world. It has been called the savage mountain and the world’s most dangerous. ![]() I would love to join on this adventure and already was planning a similar one of my own but my dates are different. I arrive in Shanghai this week, then to Hong Kong, then will be travelign through the south of China, hitchhiking and camping from time to time, bussing and hosteling others. Ill set off from Hong Kong around May 10th or so. If anyone wants to join let me know. Ive got a two person tent. |
