From CHina to Vietnam

Hi Couchsurfers,

At the beginning of April i ll be traveling in south China, then I would like go to Vietnam to Ha Long bay. Could you advice me how is the cheapest and the easiest way to get there from south CHina(Nanning, Guilin)?

There are buses from Nanning to Halong Bay, but I don't know the details. I wonder if the information that Ye Ding gave you is the train from Nanning to Hanoi, because I haven't heard of a train going to Halong Bay.

One more question, I am considering now where i would like finish my over CHina journey, as a last stop I am considering Hainan island (sanya) or second option is Vietnam and Ha Long bay. I can go only to one place, which one u would advice me?

since you are talking about getting to Vietnam
I will arrive the 10th february in Nanning, how easy is it to get a bus ticket? Can I just go the next day and buy a ticket for the same day? Or is it overbooked because of the spring festival?

Hey I'm also wondering the same thing. I arrive in Nanning Feb 12 and need to be in hanoi for me the 13th. I heard the bus is the best way and leaves in the morning, so I plan on taking it on the 13th, does anyone know where I could get the bus ticket online?
