Which Temple in Koyasan?
Posted December 25th, 2011 - 10:39 pm by from Turku, Finland (Permalink)
Hello everybody.

First post here, but following the postings here already for a while, which already helped a lot.

For my next travel to Japan (more later) I would like to stay in Koyasan around end of April. I found a site to make a reservation for a Shukubo stay. But as there are so many, and only a short description, I wonder how to choose in which one to stay.

Does someone have some tips for me? I am just a tourist, but would like to experience the real Koyasan (what ever that means :-)

Thanks a lot,
Michael

I would be curious as well :) Which one did you choose Michael?

Hey Teri
Thank you very much for the advice. Do you think the temple stay is an authentic experience or rather a tourist trap :)

I'll be checking it out soon. Doubtful anything up there is a tourist trap since in Japan once you're outside of cities pretty much what you see is what you get. And I've heard even the most expensive stays on Koyasan aren't attempts to skin you.

I'll know more before April and try to post before.
