Chernobyl a letter to Aliona
I was sending this letter to Aliona about Chernobyl, but then I realized that other people could be intrigued as well. She is keen on photography. I am myself on writing and I am going to write a travel book from my journey. I wrote to her:
I am comming to Belarus on August. I saw in one discusion that you were interested in visiting evacuated areas and nature near Chernobyl.
I would love to do that too. There is very little information in here to arrange anything. If there is any chance, then it is in Belarus itsefl. I know that you just need to get a special permission to get through the check-point.
People who crosses that border regulary are biologists, since there are wild horses, wolfes, beabers, bisons and other rare animals now. I think that they are from Minsk University. So asking there if we could join them to make some photos of their work could also help.
Unfortunately I can do a little from here. But I think that there must be breathtaking views there to see. So If you would like to give it a try and ask at office or ask biologist, I am all there with you.
