Photographs and such.

I saw a documentary called Born in Brothels and it was about kids born in the red light district and living in brothels in Calcutta. bla bla [...] anyway the interesting part is, in the movie the documentarist gives all of the kids (9 - 14 y.o.) a camera to take pictures of whatever they want. They end up selecting the best ones to make an exposition in New-York, selling their photos to raise money to get themselves out of misery.


I thought that could be adapted to CS. There are quite a few photographers, professionnal or amateurs on CS. I think it could be fun to have a photo contest, in which a few selected ones would be up for auction or whatever, raising funds for the project!

I think there are endless possibilities out there for creating some value out of the boiling creativity of the great community that is CS. This would not only help us get funds, it would also spread the couchsurfer way of life, and would catch the interest of a possibly good number of people. CS is not only about surfing couches, its a way of life and we need to break out of our boundaries.

hey, for someone who cant read very well, u r(or pretend) to be good at math, kinda strange aint it??

id say just round it off, u know, like the 8 bucks to 10 bucks and what not, but for the smaller things then do the percentages., to tell u the truth i aint bought shit from it yet, but i was interested in a thong for my self though.

any input on selling them at meetings and stuff, its just that me personally, being a little impulsive and what not, i dont normally buy stuff online, not coz i dont trust buying on line, but coz i want something and i want something now, which is why i always end up doing express or overnight and get hit with a 30 or 40 buck shipping fee.
so this is how i see it
drunk person-with cash-sees item-wants item-buys item-happy drunk person.

ok this may seem a bit offensive to any feminists and may not exactly be pc, but u know they sell the cs calendar, well we can look through all the members and pick the really hot ones out and ask if they would be willing to be put on a cs calender, call it the cs girls or something. im sure theres enuff guys there that will buy one, also we can look for all the hot guys, and do the same for them, but im sorry im camera shy, so dont bother asking me,

lets face it, what chick wouldnt wanna be in the top 12 of cs chicks, same with guys as well
just an idea.
by the way im not sying do naked stuff or anything like that, we can do that sort of stuff later,

yea i agree, and jim stone also came with an idea of making a calendar with his red couch photos, which is also a great idea, considering they are both ICONS of cs.

This is the kind of stuff we need, get the most surfers, noobs included, involved in activities that will set this place on fIre.
