I'm happy to host as many as want to be here:) For diehard campers, there are several acres for tent-pitching, but there's the house as well. I just need a head count and we'll go from there. Patty and I have been in touch, and this seems like a really good option. Langley is a lovely little town, too, and has great lunch possibilities as well as beautiful views of the water. Good little thrift store there, too.

I'd love to see Cherie's place as well. In my Costa Rica life, I have a breads and sausage-making business.

After looking at the logistics of it all I will NOT have my van up there for our get together. Looks like I'll need to go to the event, then come back to California and leave from here for the final move on June 16th.

Looking forward to showing everyone Living Green!

Hello Aarnexia!

We'll be at our place on Whidbey for the nights of the 10th and 11th of June. I have room for everyone, I'm sure, and a van as well as a personal car. I think Patty will be continuing to fine tune the days' activities, but a little sight-seeing and shop-crawling seem to be in the works. As I've mentioned, there's plenty of room for tenting as well. The Seattle part of everything is in someone else's hands...Marilyn? Kris? Both? It looks as though people will just choose which bits they want to take advantage of. I'd be happy to answer any specific questions. I'll post the address and our 'phone number as the time nears. For now, we can email, or email me off-list and I'll send my phone number etc.

I see the sun!

Depending on what's happening on the 10th, we can be in Seattle and run some people back with us in the van...i.e. from Settle to our place on Whidbey...anyone remember what's going on on the 9th or 10th? We're very flexible. Some might call it aimless:)

Hi Marilyn.

Just let us know about the 10th then. As it happens, our son, Ethan, and daughter-in-law, Shinri, live in the yellow Victorian right next to the Fremont Troll. If we do need to catch up with you at some point, that's easy enough. We're in Seattle a lot hugging our granddaughters. I think we'll try to get to Seattle earlier, as well...to meet Sudhir and all that first day or evening. Might pick up a sleeping bag at my son's house, as well. We have several, I think. Washing a few sheets won't kill us, either:)

Sounds good!

Our home exchange ends on June 16th, and we fly home on the 18th....one of those torturous money-saving itineraries thought up by an indifferent computer somewhere under Omaha...Seattle to Salt Lake City to LA to Panama City to Costa Rica. Sounds nightmarish.

Being one month out, I'll need a head count now. I THINK I have Aarnexia, Patty, Le Tran, Marilyn....I can't seem to find absolute absolute confirmation from anyone else, but I thought that Kris and Glenn had also said they'd be here. Who am I losing?

I'm also looking forward to seeing and hearing about Cherie's adventure.

Yes Sharon, dun forget me!! I am also coming to Whidbey..

Tom & Sharon & All, I am sorry for few & delayed responses since I am working on the business project finalizing minute details. This is really keeping me on my toes all the time....but I am happy..

Thank you Tom for the thoughtful gesture. It will be an up and down trip for you I guess, which I do not want. I will be in Tacoma for a day or two before the Seattle Meet. So we can meet one of those days at your convenience and experience American Culture.

Thank you all!

Prat

P.S. I posted this response yesterday as well, but God know why it never showed.. server might have screwed it up.

Hi Sharon

I had planned on being there with you, too...

I'll know for sure by this weekend..just making final plans for my trip there..
I'll fly in May 28th and go straight to Whidey Island...the rest is a blur...then I fly out from Whidbey Island on the 11th...

You, Marilyn, et al will be the first to know...

Excellent, Cherie! And Carla as well.

We spent the day in Seattle having fun...went from the giant Goodwill on Dearborn Street to Uwajimaya for grocery shopping and lunch, and then to Pike Place for a walk in the sun and some more shopping. Pike Place has so much great-smelling and inexpensive ethnic food. We need to spend more time there. We'll be doing an exchange within an exchange in Ballard, a Seattle neighborhood, from the 23rd to the 30th.

I guess things are falling into place. Was Richard going to join us?

Hi, there is a Quick Shuttle bus schedule 5 times a day from Vancouver to down town Seattle or to the airport ( not working with 9:30 Am flight) you can purchase on line for 5% discount, around 40.00$ Cad.Or pay on the spot about 45.00$ one way.

Prat,
I could pick you up in Seattle on the afternoon of the 15th and bring you up to the airport in time for your flight on the 16th. At 7pm on the 15th I have a bee keepers meeting that I want to attend. Assuming we were back in time, we could have dinner, you could meet a niche of American culture, and we could spend the evening doing what ever you need to do to catch your flight. In the morning, I'll get you to your flight. It would be fun to have you here.

hey all!

sorry for this very late reply! i've had all kinds of computer issues, in addition to being busy with non-vacation related stuff. finally found the time to catch up a little. cherie has a store? boy, have i been out of it!

i definitely want to come to whidbey, if you have a bit of floor space left sharon! i will have my trusty sleeping bag with me. i remember offering to share the cost of a rental car with ... someone. cherie? i'm still up for that if we need another vehicle.

back to work. if i get everythiing organized well enough, i may be able to get out a couple days earlier!

peace, y'all!
