I would like to share ideas that just popped into my mind as I read your post...
It would be interesting to have an article on your blog that sets the example of traveling cheaply. For example, you could ask someone (or yourself) to live off 5$/day & describe to people how that person manages to do so. What are their activities, where are they sleeping, etc.
Also, you could interview travelers with their personal tips & references. That way, there would be an array of advice for different types of travelers.

from Mumbai, India (Permalink)Why not Tripcarry while you travel...offer something to bring along with you to your new destination and find a friend there who you could offer that and he/she might offer you a lunch/dinner place to sleep...may be cash if something you are bringing along is worth...

from Pembroke Pines, United States (Permalink)Just a piece of advice ..food is cheap in most places .. Dont scavange from the bins etc ...the last thing you want to do is get sick in a new place and end up in a hospital that will cause you much high $$ than saving a few $ on food.
Be very careful while travelling and make efforts to sty healthy. Just my 2c
