US Adventure

Hi all. Am new to this couch surfing thing but it looks like an awesome tool to connect with like-minded people so thought I'd put this out there straight away!

I'm a musician from South Africa and am going to be travelling the US for 2/3 months from beginning of July to end of Sept 2012. Not quite sure how, where or what just yet but am keen to meet up with other travelers who are on a similar mission! Am looking to do a road trip or two, catch some great music festivals along the way (maybe Newport Folk Fest, Lollapalooza, Maha & Bumbershoot if possible) and see where the road/plane/train takes me. If any of you already have something similar to the above planned out, or would like to plan something with me, let me know! Am also open to various suggestions.

Places I'd like to explore are: NYC, Seattle, Portland, LA and San Francisco, the Rockies, Nashville and more of Tennessee, random small American towns, some bigger ones...and the list goes on! Also, if any of you can host me in the above mentioned areas that'd be great. Drop me a line. I look forward to hearing from you!

Hi there,

I'm going to be traveling from New York along the southern states from roughly June 15th to July 19th, stopping in Colorado to do a four day volunteer assignment, then starting to travel again from July 23rd on, time undetermined.

If you're interested in meeting up somewhere in Tennessee, Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Utah, etc. that might be interesting. I'll be doing a combo of walking, bussing, and perfhaps WWOOF'ing to Colorado.

Let me know if any of that sounds appealing.

i won't be out of Colorado until July 23/24th, probably won't be east until July 28/30th. Sounds like fun though!

Thanks for all the great tips and suggestions! I hope to meet up with you all along the way somewhere! For now am trying to get myself sorted in NYC when I land. There are so many options it's quite overwhelming ;) If any of you can suggest / or are keen to host me in the city for any number of nights between the 20th and 30th July please drop me a line. Am very keen to make my way up to the Newport Folk festival at the end of July as well although I see tickets are sold out...if anyone's going or has a spare ticket please let me know!!
