I've been a vegetarian for 38 years.

I live in the US, and during the past 38 years have travelled all over the US, based mostly out of California, now living on Whidbey Island (a ferry ride from Seattle).

I've also been to Iceland (first as a holiday, then later to rent an apartment there), and have navigated veggie eating in Montreal as well.

Hey Janna!
Great project! I am a Veggie since the beginning of this year. I am a new-bee but there is no turning back. I am very passionate about the subject and I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba,Canada where is it quite there are many vegan-vegetarian options. However, I did grow up in rural Manitoba and I have spent quite a bit of time traveling around South America, both where the vegetarian lifestyle is more rare and it is a little more difficult.
I am up for an interview!

I'm not sure if I will be useful for you, but here I am ;-) Vegetarian for only 9 months (since 2. January), but all this time almost-vegan (just on my way to be a perfect human), I'm travelling often to other countries or to small villages and I think I have many experiences. Unfortunately, mainly negative. So if you want to ask about anything, ask.

We are vegan and have both been for many years, we have traveled to mexico, south america, western europe, and about 20 of the US states. Everywhere seems to be easy for vegetarians, not all places are easy for vegans.

Im only a recent convert in becoming a vegan. Less that 2 years. In that time I had to travel overseas where it was impossible to have vegetarian and even less chance to have vegan food. Happy to help if you need it.

Hey there all! I'd be happy to take part as well. Self decided veggie since age of 12 ... 17 years! ... All different phases of lacto ovo, vegan, raw food...all different phases of reasoning... Lots of vegetarian/vegan traveling & homestays: Central America, across Europe, Jamaica, India, & East and West Coast USA! :)
Now I'm working from a very positive aspect to encourage people to EAT MORE PLANT BASED FOODS in my own gentle way...And I just developed a cake I'm now selling - "Super Yogi Cakes" that are super nutrient dense, vegan (except honey), gluten free, and YUM MIE!

Looks like you have all you need! But, if you want more people to interview.....I have been vegetarian for 41 years and vegan for over 30 years. I am 57 years old, but feel like I am 20. I backpack, dance, hike, do yoga, bicycle, kayak....well, on and on it goes. Grateful that I made this choice for non-violence reasons and got the added health benefits!

Janna, you have a plethora of people to contact here. I'm just so grateful to see how many CouchSurfers in the vegetarian scene there is worldwide.

I was watching the news with my dad tonight and was astounded at how many birds will be someone's dinner for our big day next week where we gorge, and celebrate taking other people's land... I'm glad that there are more and more vegetarians out there to minimize the suffering.

Well, I can't imagine you'll need anymore help with the article.... but if so:

I've been mostly Vegan and Raw-foodie for the last 8 years.
10 Years Vegetarian.
I'm a traveling raw chocolatier ~

I've traveled extensively across the U.S. relying 90% on the website HappyCow.net to guide me to the promise land of vegan and vegetarian foods.

Last summer I traveled across Europe for 2 months eating at every vegan and veg restaurant I could find throughout 8 countries. (once again using HappyCow).

I also taught Raw Chocolate Making Workshops in Paris and Zurich on that trip, and networked with the vegan meetup groups of those adjoing towns.

I'm readying myself for a return trip of chocolate making again (this time to Dublin, London, and Berlin... and possibly Barcelona).

I'm already planning which raw restaurants I'm gonna scurry over to when I get off the plane in Dubin

Hey Janna, I have become vegetarian half a year ago. It was simple, I have started doing yoga a year ago, meditate too.. and everything become clear :)

How is it? It is awesome! But hard here in Czech.. very much unhealthy diet in restaurants and families.. I am going abroad for 1 month to the USA first time as a vegan and it will be not easy I think :)
