if you have any favourite vegan places in Melbourne or Sydney, I would love to hear about them. Exploring both cities next month:)
Hi Marte!
I have no personal experience but I have heard that Melb is the most vegan friendly city in the southern hemisphere!
Here are a couple of websites that should help:
-
http://www.happycow.net/australia/victoria/melbourne/
-
http://www.veganmelbourne.com.au/
I hope that you have a great time - please let us know how it goes! :)
Thank's a lot:)
I'll have a look

The Loving Hut in Victoria st, Richmond is a super great vegan cafe! The Asian-style food is divine!!
There is also Las Vegan Bakery at 22 Smith St, Collingwood.
and Realfoods Organic Cafe at RMIT University in the city
There are about a million vegetarian cafes that can do vegan dishes too! When you're in town, give me a yell, because I'm always looking for new vegan friends to cook or eat out with! Also, I will be visiting Oslo in August next year, and looking for great vegan places there...
Regards,
Tabitha
Hi Tabitha!
Thank you so much! Love to have spesific places recomended. Never been to a vegan bakery, so looking forward to trying that!
Don' hesitate to contact me when your Oslo visit is aproching. I'm sad to say we don't have the big variety of vegetarian and vegan places her, but I'll lead you in the right direction:)
Maybe I'll see you in Melbourne!

In Melbourne you have to check out Yong Green Food on Brunswick street! There's also a heap of other vegan-friendly places on the street;
The Vegie Bar - good value and plenty of variety, yummy chocolate cake with soy ice cream.
Madame K's - bit more expensive but a nice menu and pretty desserts
And plenty more! Most places on the street have veg options.
On Smith street, Trippy Taco is pretty awesome - Mexican food with tofu and soy cheese options. There's also The Gasometer, a pub with a full separate vegan menu including desserts. And Las Vegan, which has pancakes for breakfast! (You'll have to check out their opening hours because I've been disappointed a couple of times to discover they're closed)
In the CBD, The Organic Food and Wine Deli ( TOFWD) on Degraves st has a heap of variety - plenty of cakes and desserts and definitely worth a look. Realllly tasty carrot cake.
A few more recommendations are Monk Bodhi Dharma in St Kilda, Moroccan Soup Bar in Fitzroy, Purple Peanuts in the CBD, Shanghai Street Dumpling.
If you're after some takeaway, there's Lord of the Fries and Grill'd in various locations. I'm a big fan of chips with gravy and soy cheese from LOTF late at night.
Hi Jess!
Awesome! Thank you so much! I'm so glad I have a whole week to try out all these places:)
