Surely they are out of touch with reality and/or unable to admit failure and swallow their pride.

It's overly idealistic to expect that people are massively going to move to there. That will not happen. The great majority will just reduce their activities in the groups, excusez le mot, places and just use the site to occasionally host or surf.

from Berlin, Germany (Permalink)You have to be realistic enough to know that it will take ages to get to the level of the current CS, if ever. I can imagine that many people will be disillusioned with hospitality networks altogether.
Besides, the proclaimed promised land of BeWelcome may also not be so promised any more whenever it becomes really big.

CS was run by volunteer when it started too, that doesn't say anything. After the recent experiences on CS, one gets a bit cynical in this respect.
