Although I was vegetarian for most of 45 years, with a few lapses into seafood, now I am eating mostly raw food (not meat!). Taipei was a treat both visits- good value and easy to find (plus refined polite people and world-class museum and hot springs) which is why I may sojourn there soon. By contrast, based on my one experience many years ago, I found finding veg restaurants in Hong Kong much more difficult (and the place hyperactive). Is this still true? Now that I am passing through Hong Kong for 2 nights I am frustrated because I can't find any veg couches. I am offering a silver maple leaf coin each night so people know I am not a freeloader. But zero response from coin collectors. I don't like spending so much time searching for food. I have business to do in Hong Kong and while of course I would rather than spend 20X my usual Hanoi hotel rate, I also want to eat with some locals What to do |
