Hi dear, Isn't it obvious that Vegetarianism/vegenism, the overarching solution for many intertwining urgent global challenges? Just name a few BIGs, Climate Change, Animal Rights, Water and Food Security and Public Health(avian and pig flu, Mad Cow...and all that threats?!) etc... A few fellows from Geneva are promoting an idea of establishing an international alliance - Global Vegetarians Against Climate Change (GVACC) to bring this idea/action into global political agenda and actions. And you are welcome to join this campaign in very initial stage. Here are some very initial basic information about GVACC. Vision: A climate- friendly sustainable world full of healthy and happy vegetarians Mission: Save the World; One bit at a time. Goal: Double world vegetarian population every decade - from current 3 percent to 24 percent, 1 in 4 human being will be vegetarians in this small planet by 2040 Main Strategy: Unite and mobilize current 3 percent world vegetarians into a global campaign aiming to double vegetarian population every decade Strategic directions: 1. Economics and Legal: Ban subsidy and add Meat Tax 2. Information and Communication: For instance, adding climate impact on food products, vegen festivals 3. National and regional mobilization/gross roots Organization: - Global Vegetarians Against Climate Change(GVACC) - A "planning" Geneva-based international alliance of organizations promoting vegetarianism as a major solution for intertwined problems of Climate Change, Food Security, Safe Water for ALL, Health, and Animal Rights. First debut of GVACC: Campaign for combating Climate Change through reducing meat consumption at the UN Climate Change Conference, Copenhagen Denmark 7-18 Dec, 2009 How can you involve now? 1.Join a GVACC Facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=170525380145&ref=nf, This is to facilitate further communication. You are welcome to post any info you think are valuable to this idea/action. We are happy to grant admin power to enthusiastic vegans here to run the FB groups, and soon a social media website for this campaign. 2. We plan to have GVACC first debut at the UN Climate Change Conference, Copenhagen Denmark 7-18 Dec, 2009. Let me know if you plan to go to this conference or you are from Copenhagen.
