thanks Taylor
I like the idea of separating this out as a distinct experience...since we mainly see photos of large groups of people smiling at a bar in a city as the iconic cs meeting (with a free hug sign...wouldn't get much action in the sticks)
I disagree with putting a work requirement in the policy...some people simply don't want someone working their space...but if there could be a place to post for farm/chore help along with a couch?
Marg
ps: I'm rural couchsurfing in Feb and am certain those people would not want me to touch their cows or power tools.

Hi Taylor...
I have worked quite a bit since Montreal's Collective on bringing CS to Quebec's Rural areas... It has always been a preoccupation for me.
We are a growing community of motivated individuals here :
http://www.couchsurfing.com/group.html?gid=3167
People talk about there experiences, their issues, concerns and there is a translation offer/request system.
It's dynamic since a very little while, mainly thanks to a clear definition of our goals and private sncere personal invitations to network with us.
I still have little time to take this project to another level, but I hope you find this motivating. I could work on it from a global point of view once some of my other projects are done. This could be link with any "Exotic couches" initiative on CS (this is part of this website's folklore too).
