Big adventures to come...

I've been away for a bit - you know you were always in my heart. I've been fortunate to meet some of you and it's a joy to call you friends. I'm excited to say I will retire from my 'job' in March (Napa CA USA), and am headed out to travel. First stop, Barcelona, then I'm open to the road. Are there any group events being planned anywhere with you in the world in the spring, early summer? I'm in my dreaming stage, reading, looking and anticipation of the next year. what do you say??

Irene, It's interesting you mention for Kathleen to join Rotary or Lions.
Here in the US those are considered MEN'S service organizations.

My 'usual' trips have been 3-4 weeks. I know I can come home whenever I want, so am not too worried about the length of time, at least right now. You make a good point, though.

I have several couchsurfing friends that I will be visiting - in Thailand, London, Belgium. I have other friends I may see in the Philippines, Africa, New Zealand, Spain. I may go to Ireland (ancestral homeland!). Who knows? I'm just thinking of places and making a spread sheet of the best times (weather-wise) to go to all these places....it's fun to work at it.
