Mind you, Dick's last name is Maehl, not Wallace, and if they don't know me well enough to know that, then I'm Dr. Wallace. Alas, it's always men, and even correcting them doesn't help . I spoke today with the manager at a dental clinic to which I had referred a client. I answered my phone "Hello, this is Dr. Wallace." (it's my work number)and heard "Hi, Mrs. Wallace, this is Diego at XXXX Clinic." I corrected him twice more during our conversation. No help. In neither Spanish nor English was he able to overcome his notion that women on the hone must be Mrs. Or Señora. Now I'm putting that out of my mind because we're expecting Mo and Martin from Wales on the 8:30pm AA flight!
