What would you do if you wanted to donate money for a charitable organization and someone is skimming from the top? What a dilemna with Christmas around the corner!

My former partner's Father (RIP Sammi) was duped by a representative of the Salvation Army. Not the same circumstances, but the same organization. This guy befriended him, and once he had his trust (which would not have taken much time or effort), Sammi wrote him two checks in one day, each for $1000. I'm sure there are people in this organization doing good things, but I'm not going to go looking for them, or donate to their cause.
