That might make a good, if small, group for CS or BW. We tried for quite a while to attract compatible people to our part of Costa Rica, and, specifically, to our own farm. Partly to that end, we built three houses in addition to our main house, and found that all the "build it and we will come" friends had reasons why they couldn't possibly leave their US or Canadian nests:) It was always "God, we wish we could do what you're doing, but we need (insert one here) 1) another $50,000 saved before we can think of it, 2) another 2 years before the market improves and we can sell our house, 3) another 3 years before the kids are through college, 4) another few years before full Social Security payments kick in..." Then came the ill-health, grandchildren, recession, divorce, unenthusiastic spouse...etc. So we have 3 nice rental houses and travel a lot:)

Still think about it from time to time...

We return from France on the 23rd of the month. We're hosting a 50s+Travelers meeting the week of March 1, if your daughter is nearby. I am not notified about events in Los Angles, and I don't know how common they are. I don't know how to sail. I have been looking for people to teach me how for several years.

I have 4 houses in CR (instead of a stock portfolio:)) and one small house on a beautiful river in Washington state. I'd rather come up with an idea that has us NOT selling our Costa Rica finca, but again, people wanting to live in Costa Rica can't seem to afford it, and people who can afford it are looking for condos and gated communities. Alas.

I share my own house and have had great times with many of the residents. I did two weddings for 2 couples. That is transport, feast and photos.

Many times the whole house has come with me to hostel weekends in beautiful parts of Britain. Everybody came to my being 50 celebration when 88 of us went to Eastbourne renting nearly a whole hotel for the weekend.

I fit many other guests in the meanwhile.
Last week Daniela. This weekend 5 family members for my birthday,

We called it loving in propinquity.

I love it. A caring sharing house.
