I left my home of 35 years 4 years ago because it became too dangerous to live there: I wasn't safe there anymore, and I was worried and stressed all the time.

I may be insane in that I don't plan hardly at all. I do try to read up, and I read The Queen of Katwe by Tim Crothers just weeks before my trip. Katwe is a slum of Kampala- I bet my bottom dollar I got close.

Zoe and Dilek watched me join a whole group of extremely well-dressed men- Africans all- who had just come out of the Blue Mosque. (Wasn't open yet for non-believers) On Friday just after noon. They turned out to be from Sudan, but did not say if they were diplomats...

Zoe marveled at me, and posted about it briefly. Paula had some acquaintances who visited Egypt in Jan or Feb.- said it was great, and not a tourist in sight...wish I had done it.
