We are happy to organise the very first Family Meeting in the Netherlands.
The beach is a perfect place to meet for families and share experiences under a (hopefully) bright blue sky, while barefoot children play games in the sand.
We meet at 10.30 o´clock under the lighthouse near the parking and bus stop, before going down to the beach (right side). Here the children, parents too, can play games in groups like waterpaaltjes voeltbal, giant mikado and Frisbee. Also individual games like poi and diabolo are fun to do or learn. Also there is the biggest swimming pool of the Netherlands, the sea!
If all families bring some food (enough for yourself and two others) we can have a huge picnic around 12.30 o´clock.
In the afternoon there is a yoga class and we build sandcastles and play more games.
If you want to join in on this event, sign up through the link, we would like to know how many people are coming. Please bring friends that are not yet a member of CS as this is a perfect introduction to Couchsurfing.
What to bring. The usual stuff like towels and swim suits, favorite games of the children and food and drinks.
During the meeting you can contact us on 06 389 259 52
We hope to see you all on the 13th of June!
Greetings from Ilse Maarten and Lilou
MEETING DETAILS:
FROM: June 13th, 2010 - 10:30 am

LOCATION: Netherlands - Zuid-Holland - The Hague
ADDRESS: Strand Kijkduin, The Hague
It always surprises me that the event pages on CS don't have discussion boards... it would be nice to discuss the event. But we can do that here...
I was just wondering, is everybody still coming? We are still planning to come (I just upped us to 90% sure), anyway.
I'll probably skip the yoga class and build sandcastles instead...
Talking about sandcastles, maybe I would like to work on my photo project called not sandcastle but Handcastle, it's on this site:
http://hand-eti.blogspot.com - the site needs some redoing, maybe, haven't done anything with it for a long time. But I could make a special page with artwork made by the attending children.
See you all next week!
erik & family
Hello Erik and all others that are (thinking of) coming to the meeting next Sunday,
surely we are still up for the meeting and hope that many of you are coming.
All things creative are possible this day. We do not have a `schedule´ for this day. We just like to create an opportunity for families to meet and share, while the kids play........
So Erik, please bring your camera and other things needed the make these nice looking handart!
Hope to see you all next week. If you have any questions please write or call us.
Greetings Ilse Maarten and Lilou
Sure! Who else is coming?
And I agree we can do without a set program, of course. All we need to do is bribe the KNMI to make some good weather for us... something like today wouldn't be bad.
Hi,
depending on the weather (after all, it's Holland) we're planning to join! Maybe not as soon as 10.30, do you have a CS sign to focus on then?
Hope to see you all!
greets, Maria, Franz & Julia (10)
Hi Maria, Franz & Julia,
if you plan on arriving later during the day, the easiest way to find us is to walk down the right hand side of the stairs towards the beach (from the snackbar on the top). We will be sitting close to where the pathway stops. No CS sign, but will think of something to recognise us as 'the place to be...........' (-;
You can always call us om 06-38925953
See you there, as we have a (family) saying: "wat voor weer, altijd mooi weer"!
Greetings
I&M&L

They're now saying 20C, 50% sunshine and 40% chance of some rainshowers. Not glorious but not bad either - for what such a forecast is worth, of course. We will come anyway unless it looks VERY grim (which it won't!)

Hello Rose,
everyone is welcome for as long as they like.
For all others:
We will make a circle of hockey sticks around our little CS camp for the ones arriving later during the day. Easy to recognise and good fun to play with.......
See you all Sunday. We'll bring the "sun"!
Ilse Maarten & Lilou
Update:
40% of the day will be sunny and the chance of rainfall is 20%...
Can't find a lighthouse in google maps but we'll take the bus and find you guys!
Hi Erik
If you get out of the bus you can't miss it!!
See you there
Ilse
Thanks for organizing a fantastic day! We loved it.
Hi All,
it was a great day (although we arrived an hour late because of car trouble..........).
Nice weather, good people, lovely food and great games.
We hope to see you all again next time!
