questions

So many questions, but I will start with this:

In the next 18 months I could possible travel overland from Europe to India. it's an old dream of 20 years back, maybe it is time to do so.

What is putting me off a bit is dealing with all the bureaucracy of visas etc.( I travel on a New Zealand Passport). I like to go with the flow rather than having to plan. I am traveling as a film maker rather than a tourist, so look for different things than tourist, filming 'transitions' in life and how people seek them, what rituals they do to facilitate them etc. I would love a travel companion, but coz I may need to stop and film I cant give an exact schedule and I do not engage much in sightseeing, as it is not the monuments I am after but the essence of normal life.

Anyway enough rambling for now.

Questions:

what is a good time frame/duration required (I have plenty of time really).

What is a good time of year to do it taking weather/monsoon into account. I need to travel extremely lightweight as I carry equipment as well as prefer to travel in warm and dry seasons for that reason.

I will leave it at that for now.
Thanks Marcel

Hello Marcel,
i wish this complition of dream leaves you with a trasure of memories.Pakistan is not a very difficult country to travell, the conditions are smooth inspite the hassle of the international media, dont u worry about that.
Travelling across the country u entre from the himallayas and exit into India through WAGA crossing near Lahore.
I m sure your camara will find loads to record.
For anything else plz dont hasitate to ask .

U cant enter China thru' Nepal without entering Tibet. U've to reacg Lhasa b4 entering China. U can also enter Lhasa directly from India via silk route. The road is not too bad for biking.
