In interesting post Estelle and indeed there are some nice places on the list and of course so many others that could have made it on the list if only there were entries for the top 100 or top 1000 places to visit.
I'd like to tell you about a place that's not on any of those lists. It's Bridgetown here in the south west of WA.
It's a small town, not much happens here. There's nothing really in the way of great shopping like Chapel St, or buildings like the Opera House or scenery that takes your breath like Mt Kosciuszko under snow. If you stop here overnight you'd probably just drive through and perhaps think "quaint town", but you'd miss the point.
There are of course some things to do here like the famous Bridgetown Blues Festival or the Blackwood Valley Chamber music festival, or a hundred other things but again, those miss the point.
What I really recommend is to come to Bridgetown and spend some time doing nothing. There's a magical cloud that hangs over this town, the area has been recognised for thousands of years as a place of healing. Come here, spend time and let your soul rejenerate and soar. Come here without a soul and you will leave with one and probably a song in your heart as well.
