The majority of responses voted for “Vienna Sustainability Group” as the new name for the group, so we will be officially changing it in the coming weeks. This actually works well as our email address is already viennasustainabilitygroup@gmail.com (in case you didn’t already know). Don’t despair though, we will still keep the old name around.

As for the types of actions you want the group to take, the two that generated the most interest were Social Actions and Do-It-Yourself Workshops. These are the exactly the types of actions that we have been focusing on this year, for example:
• creation of the DIY Group (formerly the Sewing Group)
• pot-luck picnics at the Donau
• joining Critical Mass (once with community gardening)
• documentary evenings at Josef’s place
• the Sustainable Summerfest involved cooking and eating together, an upcycling workshop, a bread-baking workshop, etc.
• the upcoming visit to Haschahof

So this is very encouraging and personally I find it reassuring to know that as moderators we are bringing the group in the direction in which it seems to want to go. In November the group will turn 3 years old so that will definitely be a good time to reflect and discuss the future of the group.
