Coming to Iran from Turkey in September 2011
Posted May 22nd, 2011 - 3:26 pm by from Diest, Belgium (Permalink)
Hey Everybody,

I'm Wiet from Belgium and me and my friend would like to travel trough Iran to visit this extraordinary country with its rich culture, passion and love for poetry.

Therefore, we are trying to gather some information about how, when, where to travel.
- what we would like to visit: Tabriz, Esfahan, Shiraz, Yazd, Persepolis, Tehran (or any suggestions you might have)
- Visa: I heard it is pretty hard to obtain a visa for longer then a week. Is this true? We would like to spend two to three weeks in Iran...
- How to travel: I discovered that trains and buses are the perfect way of traveling through Iran. Any suggestions?
- Anyone interested in hosting us in one of these cities? or have cheap accommodation/food/cultural sidetracks or tips for seeing some true Iran culture? Please, I'm all ears!

Thank you very much and hope to hear from you soon.

Wiet

Hi wite
- I live in Tehran and I can show u cultural, interesting and important places in Tehran.
- Because of my branch and my friends I can cooperate u to visit Ateliers of Professional young modern artists (photographers and painters) and participate in some exhibition opening day of famous art galleries in Tehran.
- u can travel to all these cities by train or bus. All of these transports have optional and restful possibilities.
- Maybe I can travel with u actually to Yazd. (but it depends on my programs in September).

cheers :)

Hi there!

I don't know much about visa process but one week visa sounds very weird (however you will face so many unreasonable things in Iran and thats one of beauties of it!!! haha!)
Don't be afraid most of the Iranians are very welcoming and love foreigners and you will be admired i guess :)

The cities that u have chosen are nice however South of Iran has beautiful cities too (Such as Ahvaz or BandarAbas) but the weather is worm and humid there.
Furthermore I myself would like to focus on two or three cities rather than visiting a little of each (this way you be alot on the way and less in the cities - especially if you have a limited time).

and about transportation, yes bus and train are acceptable and cheap but I think airplane would be a good option for you too because comparing to your money I think it will be cheap.

About the cost of living visit (http://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/compare_cities.jsp?country1=Iran&country2=Belgium&city1=Tehran&city2=Antwerp) tehran is the most expensive city in Iran

btw, when will you come to Iran?
I can not host 3 but i can show you around (i live in tehran)
