i have just found out the existence of this festival since my fav italian band will perform there on August 14th.
i double checked my roster at work and hopefully i will finalize my booking soon. i can stay just from fri to mon. do u already have the full programm?i guess to fly over budapest on friday night and leave on tuesday morning.
do u think it's better to camp in the island or go & back to the city everyday?i wish we can all meet & party there.

We'd totally recommend to camp on the island - there is so much going on there during both night and day, and the atmosphere is amazing, you wouldn't want to miss it.
However, trips to the city are also advised, there is much there to be visited and seen, from Budapest's thermal baths to famous local rom-kocsmak (ruin-pubs).
The schedule shall appear here: http://www.sziget.hu/festival_english - plus there will be Sziget magazines given out for free on the island. So you'll be able to check the schedule and decide when you can pay a visit to the city :)

well, i will go to buy the camping passm then, althought i m gonna spend just the last three nights since i will be working untill 13 afternoon and if im lucky i can arrive on time just for 13 night show.
then i will wait for 14 one when Italian SUBSONICA are supposed to perform.
on tuesday, i will try to contact some agency to get the ticket and soon sort out my flights as well.. im highly motivated, guys and looking forward to meet un in this festival!

I'm very sorry for writing you just like that, but I have a huge problem.
I'm going to the Sziget festival too, but just realised, that the real first, so the -1. day begins on the 9th of August, not on the 11th. I know, I am stupid. The problem is,that my family and I will be around Amsterdam that date, and I don't have the money to get a flight there, or a train either. Since I've read that you have the same problem, maybe you have already found somebody that can give you a lift, and if it isn't a huge problem, would you mind if I joined?
I would obviously pay my part from the fuel and other expenses, and I won't have much luggage either since I live in Budapest normally, and my family can take my bigger things home when they are leaving the Netherlands.
As to repay your favour, I can offer my flat if you want to stay there or have a normal shower or just sleep in a normal bed during the festival.
Sorry again for bothering you, but it would help me enormously!
I hope you will enjoy Hungary and the festival!

I'm going to buy a ticket only for day 11, it's gonna be madnesssss xD
It will be my first time in Sziget festival, I'm from Portugal and I'll be traveling around eastern europe for a month (with Interrail) and a festival along the way will be the cherry on top of the cake :)
