Group RV Travel ( Comments, Input, ideas +-)

I travel fulltime right now via RV/Bus. I was thinking of having some fun and finding 4-6 Couchsurfer's to join me. I am somewhat new to CS so I was looking for input ,idea's, comments, past experiences on if something like this works out.

1). My first idea was to travel U.S.A. (national parks inc.) / Canada/ Alaska/ and maybe even head South down Mexico. Share expenses for Diesel and Campgrounds. With plenty of wilderness trail backpacking adventures in Sierras, Redwoods. Etc. But I am finding no one has any Money for this kind of travel LOL. Idea's comments welcome : )

2) New Idea Plan is to find 4-6 Couchsurfers who want to work and Travel. I work and Travel now making Silver and Gold Jewelry. I used to have a Large jewelry factory in the Virgin Islands with 21-38 employees shipping 600 pieces per day. Anyways plan 2 involves Couchsurfers working for me, basically put, helping me make jewelry. Just like any business you need a website person, artist designers for new product design, production helpers for polishing, shipping. You get the idea. A whole mobile business comprised of Talented Couchsurfers and world travelers. This plan could be very awsome and could possibly attract world attention news worthy attention. Or it could blow up in my face!

SO WHATS YOUR THOUGHTS, COMMENTS, BETTER IDEA'S FOR GROUP TRAVEL? ? Or do you think I should just stick to solo travel : ) ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Wow - I wrote a long reply, then hit the preview, not save button. Duh.

At any rate, yeah I am interested in joining for at least part of own travels across the country.

I like the idea you have here and I, for one, think with the right group of folks it could work quite well and might just get some media attention. hopefully not that second option. :(

I'll be in Ridgway PA from Feb 16th to 23rd shooting (photographing) the Ridgway Chainsaw Rendezvous to gather more funding, stop by if you're up to the winter weather - but bring some of that Florida sunshine with you. :)

I should of been a Lumber Jack, But my name is Jon : )LOL. I am not a ground hog either but I predict maybe another 4 more weeks around Florida should do and hopefully the weather will be good enough to head into the Carolina's and up the Coast into Main. Unless I find travel Buddies with Money to convince my to head West to all the National Parks : ). Because I am always up for that : ). No doubt plan 2 could be a nightmare, but it could be awsome as well. Since one of the biggest reasons of leaving my big jewelry factory with all those employees was I was tired of Babysitting them. But if the group is talented and fun then it could be a new Joy for everyone involved. I don't want to work that hard, I have already done that 7 days a week thing. Just enough to Travel work and have fun combo. Actually I only work 4hrs a day now : )

Yes, like most I have all kinds of plans, no real order in which to do them : ). Go up the East Coast into and all the way across Canada. Down to Burning Man. See the West coast and visit all the National Parks. Love to spend 3-4 months around Alaska. Head South down into Mexico and South America. I am Fulltime Rver now.

Well, you have had employees before so you are well aware of potential problems. We have had people live on our property in exchange for work. It has always ended up being a little messy, trying to get people to make their rent exchange money come first, when their attention is in five other places. I would write out a clear plan and what the agreement would be with others, what they are commiting to, and if they don't meet it, or the personalities don't mesh, be willing to let the person go before it gets uncomfortable.The clearer you are, and the less attached and open, who knows, maybe the perfect people will show up.Keep us posted...
