Location: Organizations >> BackPackSurfing - Shipping via CS WANTED: UK to Uganda. Equipment transfer for Ugandan NGO!
Hello everyone, My name is Elizabeth and I volunteer in the UK for the Ugandan NGO, Mwenya Uganda. Mwenya means smile in Lugandan. We are a 100% volunteer run organisation, Ugandan professionals from all fields volunteer their time to run mobile medical and dental clinics in rural areas of Uganda. We provide FREE education, treatment, care, love to those who are most vulnerable in Uganda. The people who run Mwenya Uganda receive nothing in return, except the knowledge that they have helped many people...this is enough for all of them to work extremely hard to make Mwenya Uganda a success. To do this however, we need your help! Maybe you would love to make a difference but you don't have the time in your trip? This is the way to do it! We always have equipment to send out to the team in Uganda, but we hate paying Courriers to take it for us! We prefer to save the money to help those who need it most and get more people involved with Mwenya. If you are allowed 2 check in bags, and you only need one for yourself....or you have a spare small pocket in your rucksack for some toothbrushes, or a pair of children's shoes...you can help us! You can be as involved with Mwenya as you like. In the UK, you can meet the British volunteers and collect the equipment in person by meeting somewhere central, or it can be posted to your house. In Uganda, you can spend a day/weekend with our team and visit local schools, our office, a clinic. Or, if you don't have time, you can just leave the equipment at your hotel in Kampala and one of our Ugandan volunteers will pick it up. If you think you can help, please get in touch by one of the following ways: Reply to this or email info@mwenya-uganda.org, For more info I encourage you to visit our website: http://www.mwenya-uganda.org/index.php If you'd like to help even more, visit this link for more details about equipment you can collect in the UK and bring with you to help us: http://stuffyourrucksack.com/charity.php?id=362 We'd love to hear from you. If you think you can help in ANY way, do get in touch. Thank you :) Remember to Mwenya (smile!) Elizabeth |
