Hey fellow CSs!!
I was looking for a carpooling group but I couldn´t find a functioning one.. so I created a group where people can arrange carpooling/ shareriding/ sharing ride/ CarSurfing.. whatever you call it :) I believe this can be a great part of the CS experience and there is no functioning group so far. There are many good reasons why to carpool, to name just a few:

- The environmental impact (less smog in the air)

- Saving gas/ money (in case you share the gas expenses)

- Having good company - sharing ride with CSs, you can be sure you won´t fall asleep

- Carpool lanes
In some bigger cities carpool lanes are available, which allow you to be in the lane if you have two or more people in your car - these are faster and less packed than other lanes

- At CouchSurfing, you can check your co-riders profile with references before you join them for ride (this is something I miss at other carpooling sites)
