Camping: XL versus Regular Camp Ticket
Posted March 25th, 2011 - 1:54 pm by from Rome, Italy (Permalink)
Hi everyone!

So... is there anyone out there who has already bought their ticket? If so, what type of ticket did you buy and should be find a place to meet and camp together?

About us (in brief): We've attended Pukkelpop in past years and this year will be our first Werchter experience. Last year at Pukkelpop we were lucky enough to meet with other CouchSurfers which made our experience even more enjoyable! We are hoping to help facilitate the organization of CSers for this event so please let us know your thoughts and opinions.

Thank you!
Rachel and Antonio

Info about the two different camping tickets:

Regular camp-site ticket
A regular camp-site ticket costs 18 Euros (cost for postage – if applicable – and handling not included) in advance, regardless of the length of stay. This camp-site ticket is valid as from Thursday morning June 30 until Monday July 4 at noon. The regular camp-site ticket is valid for use at the camp site of one's choice. People can choose between a classic ticket or an e-ticket.

Camp-site XL ticket
New this year: the camp-site XL ticket. This ticket enables you to come and stay at camp sites A2, A3 and A4 as from Wednesday June 29 at 4 PM. The ticket remains valid until Monday July 4 at noon. Please do keep in mind that only 3 camp sites will open on Wednesday, so the availability of XL tickets is limited. Camp-site XL tickets can only be ordered as e-tickets and cost 25 Euros (handling cost not included) in advance.

IMPORTANT (The reason we should organize!)
Upon arrival at a camping facility, you will be given a camp-site wristband on production of both a valid camp-site and festival ticket. This wristband does not only guarantee you a spot at that particular camping facility, it also features the number of the facility, so you should never have a hard time finding your camp site and tent. Each facility has a different manager and they are not interlinked at all. In other words, a wristband of facility A1 does not allow you to stay at facility A3 and vice versa. The manager will not let you in or make you buy a new ticket + wristband. We urge you to agree on which camping facility you and your friends would like to stay before coming to Werchter.

I haven't bought any camping ticket so far... coming to think of it, I do hope that you can still buy that later? Otherwise I'll have to come up with another solution :/

Cool!

We went for the XL campsite tickets as well. So is A3 the best place to be? :) As the date draws nearer we'll plan more- hopefully we can meet at the gates to find an area large enough to accomodate all of us.

@Maarten (and Karl): Based on the way the site is set up it looks like you can buy campsite tickets even if you've already purchased your festival ticket. Come join the camping fun! Hopefully see you guys there.
