Looking for native Spanish speaker for language exchange

I went to Mexico for five months last year as an exchange student. I started learning spanish when I was in there. Now I came back to Hong Kong and I'm on my last semester of my bachelor degree, however I don't have time and enough credits to take a regular spanish class. But I still want to learn more spanish. And I think it would be a good idea if I can meet some native speakers. I did language exchange with one of my schoolmates when I was in Mexico. It helped me a lot. And I wish I can offer foreigners some help if I have the chance.
I'm willing to teach you either Mandarin or Cantonese. I was born and bred in a bilingual family. I'm a native speaker of both languages as my mom is a native Mandarin speaker and my dad is a native Cantonese speaker. So just inbox me :D

My husband is a native speaker and we always speak Spanish to each other (his English is very basic). We'd both like to learn Chinese, maybe starting with spoken Cantonese and traditional Chinese writing. If you're still looking for language exchange partners, give us a shout!

haha, looks like too many of us all looking for a Spanish partner but obviously, demand is way bigger than supply. I hope to see more spanish-speakers can show up soon!

And yes, I m looking for one too! I m taking class with a private tutor right now but I do need more chance to practise!

Hi all,
I'm glad so many people want to learn Spanish! What times would suit you all? We're generally free in the evenings (after 7pm) and all day on Thursdays and Sundays. I was thinking that maybe we could split into two groups so that everyone can choose a time that is more convenient for them?
Also, could everyone say how much they know already (i.e. are you only now beginning to learn, or can you suistain a simple conversation?) I think it would make sense to split into two groups according to your knowledge of Spanish. As for us, we're absolute beginners in Chinese ;-)

Hi all,

I am a friend of Isabel. I was wondering if I can join you guys. I am pretty new in learning spanish. Actually she taught me some spanish when we travelled together in Mexico and Cuba jajajaja. Till now, I only know some basics (really basic stuff like present tense and present tense jajajaja).

I will be free almost every evening (except Mon and Thu since I will have to prepare for a performance for the remembrance of the June Fourth Incident on 3/6).

I can teach Japanese as well, if anybody is interested lol.

Hi all,

Well I am attracted by this group as well! I wish to learn Spanish so much after travelling in Spain and I am always waiting for the chance to visit Latin America...

However, I basically know nothing about Spanish...(Just know some basic words...) So any HK mates can share with me your ways to learn Spanish? Are you learning from private tutors or whatever?

By the way, I think I am quite free to teach Cantonese now :)

Ok, how about meeting next Thursday (17/05) at 7pm for the first session? We can then decide which days suit whom etc. Do you have any ideas for the meeting place? A quiet cafe with relaxed staff would be perfect... We live near Sheung Wan on HK island but we could travel as long as it's not VERY far away ;-)

It's amazing that a lot of people want to learn Spanish. I would be glad to help you all but with so many stuff going on in my life right now I cannot help you, however I wish you good luck!

If you are intested, each third Wednesday at Culture Club in SoHo there's a Spanish-speaking gathering. You don't need to pay a fee, only buy a drink. If any one of you is interested in attending the next gathering will be this coming Wednesday 25-July-2012. It is organized by a English guy whose name is Chris Stubbs.

Time: Wednesday, July 25, starting at 7 p.m.
Place: CultureClub, 15, Elgin Street, Soho District.
Info: no need to register – just turn up in good spirits and enjoy the conversation

Wow! I am surprised that everyone wants to learn my language!

I am Noelia from Spain, exactly from Andalusia. I am planning to move to Hong Kong from 2nd of December!
I am right now trying to find accommodation in this crazy city ( any help is appreciated!)but as soon as I get settle up I would love to meet you guys for regular meetings!

Is this Spanish exchange event still operating every Wednesday?

I wish to learn Spanish as I am planing to do bike tours in Spain, Mexico and South America in 2013 ...I am an electrician engineer and am handy to fix things so I can exchange native language Cantonese/Mardarin, English and or my labor for house or appliance maintenance.
