Sipadan or any other good place around Asia 24-30dec

Hey CSers,
Im planning a dive trip 24-30DEC and Im looking for a wow place and a nice buddy.
Any recommendations/tips?

it is monsoon season now, all the islands on the eastcoast (tioman, perhentian, redang) are closed.

You still can go to sipadan, it might rain a little too though.

hi

i am at the moment in Mabul island where work like diving instructor...he he ;)
maybe is rainy season but not a lot rain...last was couple days ago for 3 minutes. ;)
Sipadan is now closed for normal acess...you need special permit ($) and only per day...no hotel, hostels....

if you need some extra information about mabul...ask ;)

i don't recall there is any rainy season at Semporna area, the last january when i was there i had at least 20m Viz.

Hey Matjaz, do you mind sharing where are you working now? i am newly certified as an OWSI and looking for job at the moment. I worked in sipadan.com as a DM for few months that was quite a DIVE SHOP!

If you get up to the Yaeyama chains of Okinawa on the furthest island, Yonaguni-jima, it's hammerhead season. Hundreds are swimming around there in large groups.

Also there's the famous underwater city.. 'iseki' ruins of Yonaguni.

The island is tiny but there are lots of wild horses walking around.

oh wow...hammerheads sound really tempting... thanks for the tip... will check up on it...
