Ok, we all here agree and are already against CS becoming a corp...we don't need to sign another petition to let them know that (we have already bombarded them with mails, messages, FB, testimonials, references and so on...).
What will be the effect of the petition? How are the 50 000 singatures reach the "leaders" of CS and what do you intent to obtain by that? Because I am afraid at this point there in quite no going back to what is used to be...
Maybe I lost some info along the way (may I be excused by the highly active members here that I really didn;t have time to follow all posts)....but, what will be the next step/ what do we suggest the corp to do? :)
I believe petitions must be made for a CHANGE, not just as a form of protest.
Peace,
Anca

Anca, thanks for your well meaning post.
I must once again remind you that this group is called "We are against CS becoming a corporation". The vital problem Casey poses to the CS Community does call for energetic action, and I fear you are preaching apathy yet again after a long string of empty preaching for solidarity.
It is still early days, and despite what some see as a fait accompli, I'm sure there is no pressing need for precise action until the Member Revolt entirely organised to take on, and reverse, Casey's misdeeds. And those days are not far off, Anca.
There is no urgency of course, except in maintaining member mobilisation and information. And in this respect I fully support Ronny's initiative. Have no worries, it will be followed up by more concrete measures to overcome your dubious objections, and counter your call to apathy.

Anca, with all due respect, it is precisely your mixed messages that I'm highlighting.
The point I've made is that on the one hand, you claim to want change. On the other, you seem to discourage any actions that aren't on your own personal agenda, or don't fit your own goals for change (which you don't define btw).
I call that a call to apathy, or if you prefer another word, inaction (which produces the same functional result).
Perhaps you can clarify your aims in effectively discouraging participation in Ronny's initiative? Or if you prefer not to, then perhaps you can say whether you have been invited to co opt offsite initiatives in support of the group "We are against CS becoming a corporation" with the same ambiguous contributions you've made here?
Again, I'm not making the point because simply because I like being an abrasive prick, although you might have another opinion about that, and you're perfectly entitled to have, hold, and cherish that opinion. Opening a petition might not be an action in your point of view, and that's a perfectly valid point to make, if you care to do so.
I personally support Ronny's action, and encourage members to do so as well. And I will continue to support the many actions that will follow by Ronny, and the other offsite groups.

And will try to spread it with the risk of my acount being delted for the second time :)
Form casey :)
I think your IP address should be unblocked by now. I think it was the amount that you were posting, rather than what you were posting that caused your account to be deleted. This shouldn't have happened - my apologies.
But I agree with anca in this
I believe petitions must be made for a CHANGE, not just as a form of protest.
And I am am hopeing this change petition to be more emotional. And with soul ;)
I undertstend also the "arhz" post
Since I feel quite radical and virulent myself :)
Lets all sign this One it's important to support people work and good initiatives.

Yeah, we do need petition. Why ? Because what we have done earlier is nothing but few individuals saying what they want. The point of petition is to stand behind the same idea, to show that we are all together and want the same thing.
So, please help to get people active and sign the petition.
Email all of your friends asking to sign it and ask them to email all of their friends. Now is the time to reach the people who don't follow the groups. There is thousands and thousands of people who would sign the petition but they don't have a clue it even exists. They most likely don't even have a clue what bad is going on in CS !

the first important step is to make it public in the whole group. then you would get over 2000 signatures.
so post the link at the most visible place! and can you arrange smth for the petition to be visible among the polls?
by the way, I cannot sign it, cause they say my mail adress is invalid, but Ill post the link!
