The white could be a little less agressive but all in all it looks cooler than the former one. A lot cooler. And I'll be more honest: I am sure you not just criticizing for the sake of it. But does look like it a bit. Anyways, let's focus on making Couchsurfing a better place and if you think the design has to change for that go ahead and taise your middle finger.

Posted November 21st, 2012 - 1:14 pm by  from Paris, France (Permalink)I really like the two versions of the new "logo" a lot: The generic one in child's handwriting on the website, and the unreadable one off-site and on all the merchandise etc. I couldn't have done a better job at jeopardizing the brand equity and hurting the business myself. I say: Keep more of these "improvements" and "new features" coming! Let's get it over with fast. There still must be some of those $25 million left to waste on similar site upgrades ;-). Ah, and dear couchsurfing (note the lower case) please take your time updating the mobile version. No rush. The more confusion, the better. Btw, is the new abbreviation "cs"? Or something like "&cs"?

And I first saw the new layout and though I was on a website to raise money for aids as far the new red "curl" reminds me of that well-known logo. So bad the original spirit has been lost... It was such an amazing idea and alternative to the global market... :-( DR JP

Second, those you are really into hospitality will find a home elsewhere, and a much cosier one. There where hospitality networks before &couchsurfing and there will be such networks after. The most active &couchsurfers have always been members also of other hospitality networks, mainly hospîtality club (which I don't recommend because it is as big a fraud as &cs) and bewelcome.org or warmshowers.org, which are non-profit.

Plus BW will never ever fuck up in any way like CS has! I've regularly been staying with people through BW, and I like to host folks through BW, the requests are way less lame than the ones I get on CS!
