Me and some other couchsurfers will be in Nijmegen a lot during the summer festivals related to the four-days walk ("Walk of the World"), where people walk 50 km each day for 4 days. Don't worry, you don't have to participate in the walk to enjoy the parties :)

The whole city center consists of festivals and events starting Saturday July 16 up to and including Friday July 22. Virtually all places have free entrance until 0:00.

In previous years you could smuggle in your own drinks, but there is no guarantee. There is a supermarket open in the city, except maybe on Sunday.

I have a large apartment where people can sleep on the floor and I have mattresses/sleeping gear for about 8 people, but it's 70-90 minutes walking from the city, or 30-40 minutes by bike (I have 3 bikes that can carry 6 people, in theory). The last bus probably goes around 0:00. Taxi is about 15 Euros.
