Vegetarians/ Vegans in NL??!
Hey ya,
I've just moved to Leeuwarden in the North of NL (Friesland) and I'm looking for selfminded ppl. I've been vegearian for 14 years and I'm really interested in meeting other vegetarians/vegans :) Are there any in Leeuwarden or NL in general???

Here's a vegan from Nijmegen, and I know a lot more vegans/vegetarians here and other parts of the Netherlands, but not in the north ;) Well, I know a vegetarian in Groningen but haven't spoken to him in 8 years.
Omg I see you've been living my dream, sleeping in a van down under!! Where did you get the van? Just secondhand? I'm going there in autumn, much better deal trading the winter here for the summer there ;)
Btw, there's a vegan weekend in antwerp in 3 weeks; we're planning on setting one up in Nijmegen.

Shame that there are no vegans/ vegetarians in Leeuwarden (so far) but the vegan day in Antwerp sounds awesome!! Where can I can more info's about that? Where abouts does it take place, when exactly, what do I have to bring, etc. ... ?

I'm living in Den Haag and i'm a vegan. I know a few other vegans from around :-)
In januari i threw a vegan waffle party, thats just great! I baked lots of waffles and guests brought toppings and drinks. Its an awesome way to meet new vegan people.
I'll be going to the Vegan Weekend in Antwerpen as well :-)

I cook at a vegan restaurant, also a good way to meet them (and create new ones :P)

Seems so good, to be working at a vegan restaurant! I just started my own corporation, selling vegan treats as cakes, pies, cupcakes, cookies, etc :-) Selling from home though, maybe in the future i will expand to a real restaurant/ lunchroom. That would be so awesome!
Oh cool! Me and Anja (who will also hitchhike) want to do a vegan workshop in NL soon; maybe you want to join? We are going to think about it in Antwerp. I would like to hand out the food for free afterwards, to promote veganism (in a way that people are open to).
That's great! I'd definitely like to join, though Nijmegen is kinda far away, but we can meet in Antwerp to begin with.
Do you know Happy Herbi? She gives a vegan workshop each month in Hoorn, where she lives.
By the way, i'm going to give a cupcake workshop, at the Viva Las Vega's Festival at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. It's 14 march, there's no entrance fee and there are all kinds of vegan food workshops, seminars, debates and movies. Would be nice to meet some CSers there! You do have to subscribe for the workshops though, see www.viva-las-vegas.nl

unfortunately I can't make it to Antwerp, cuz I will be in Spain during the veganweekend. which is even better I think ;)
O hai! I'm in Utrecht and mostly live vegan, occasionally vegetarian. I don't know anyone in Leeuwarden I'm afraid though... however, last year I organised a CS (though open to anyone interested) vegan/vegetarian picknick here in Utrecht, and once the weather gets better I shall be doing so again, you should come!
Jonas, I work in Den Haag, so I'm there pretty much every weekday. Have you discovered Baklust ( http://www.baklust.nl/) yet? Really nice little vegetarian & vegan lunchroom! Also, check out the squat scene: I don't know about Den Haag, but in a lot of other places there are vegan community kitchens in squats, i'm sure they must exist there, too.

There are plenty in Holland, many more than over here (in the South of Europe)...
Try www.bksa.org or www.bkwsu.org all vegetarians and great meditation classes for free. The nearest centre is Groningen or Zwolle...

The number of vegans has been exploding in recent years due to the rise of factory farming and environmental/health concerns.
I know, but I guess I don't attract them ;-)
